Beth knows how to get things done.
After returning to Valdese, Beth learned about the undeveloped 300 acres on Lake Rhodhiss. Traveling every weekend to bike, kayak or hike Beth thought this would be an amazing asset for Valdese – and her family. To make it happen, she founded Friends of the Valdese Rec. After seven long years, Valdese Lakeside Park Phase 1 construction is complete!
As Rotary Club of Valdese President, Beth applied for a Rotary District Grant to assist all the local ministries, such as the Clothing Closet, Hygiene Closet, Dry Bottoms Ministry and more. As membership chair, she has worked to bring in 12 new members over 2 years.
She was appointed by Speaker Moore to serve on the NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Authority where she serves on a 9-member panel to award millions of dollars to local governments each year for their park projects.
Beth has been a volunteer since she grew up on Flat Gap and as a little girl would make crafts to take to the rest home across the road. She continued helping through her family, church and small clubs but started taking on larger projects as a member of the Fuquay-Varina Junior Woman’s Club. There she led the effort to start a Women’s Resource Center with interview clothes, resume assistance as well and medical and legal advice.
