In 2019, I was appointed to the NC Parks and Recreation Authority by NC House Speaker Tim Moore – and I continue to serve today. As part of a 9 member panel, we award matching grants to local governments for parks, public beach access, and improvements in state parks through the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF). This fiscal year, we awarded over $18M to local governments for their park projects. I am honored to be trusted with this responsibility of state funds.
